Girls' Day 2024
Once a year, Girls' Day offers girls under 18 the chance to spend a day getting a taste of careers in which women are still underrepresented. The initative not only supports the desire of children and young people for early career orientation, but also counteracts the shortage of skilled workers.
We were already involved in Girls' Day last year and gave 5 enthusiastic girls an insight into working at an IT company. It was soon settled that this year we wanted to contribute to the initiative again and give some girls the chance to gain their first experiences in developing speech technology and get a taste of the IT world.
What makes us special is that, unlike most AI or IT companies, we are well above the alarmingly low female quotas that prevail in the IT sector. Thanks to the high proportion of women in software development at Aristech, the girls can see from a real-life example that the IT industry is also undergoing radical change and that all paths are open to them, even in a supposedly male-dominated industry.
With great excitement, the girls built their first dialogs, took a look behind the scenes of voicebot development and taught our little robot colleague Aribot how to dance.
