Shh! Quiet. TTS recordings are in progress here!
A new TTS voice is currently being created in the Aristech-recording studio. A few weeks ago, Sandra came to us to record for a Cologne voice. Samples in English and German were recorded over a period of two weeks. Our TTS experts are currently working on debugging and post-processing the samples in order to develop the TTS voice. When asked what makes our TTS voices special, our CTO Michael Mende says
"At Aristech, we have a technological understanding of linguistic complexity and we love this diversity of languages rather than seeing it as a problem. Linguistic soft facts, such as dialectal nuances in TTS voices and minor weaknesses in dialog should not be underestimated when it comes to the acceptance of AI dialogs"
When TTS recordings take place at our office, there is always a very special atmosphere in the air. Our jobs, which are often very theoretical and involve a lot of programming, become particularly tangible on such days. As exciting as recording days are, the real star of the show was of course Inka, the speaker's dog. She would always sit peacefully in front of the sound booth and take a short walk around the office once or twice a day to greet everyone.
